So, I am volunteering at my Humane Society, and we have a darling puglet that needs a home (pug/maltese mix) I really wanted to adopt him, but I was denied. *sigh* Instead the coordinator asked me to take in an English Bulldog male (named Mr. Wubbles by me because he is sooo wrinkley and cute!) because Pugsby and Mr. Wubbles hit it off when introduced. (I had to dog sit Mr. Wubbles because our coordinator was out of town, and someone just dropped him off in the Walmart parking lot...) And because of our weekend together, Mr. Wubbles actually has gotten depressed being at headquarters without his pal Pugsby. He was heartworm negative thank God, but he has um...hookworms I think? He is just a baby, 3-5 months *I figured he would need formula but the vet said nay* the vet thinks, and has some minor yeast troubles in his wrinkles. Should I do it??? I don't know much about the breed, and I am doing research as we speak, but...I don't know...I don't want to be another failure to a darling that does not deserve it. Financially I can do the heartworm and yeast treatments, and the vet said he needs to be on perscription food for awhile because he is underweight (which I can afford as well) , and my son is really indifferent, and my hubby liked him...I would love some info on the breed and some straight-forward advice. Thanks a bunch PV!!!!
there are a few people here who have both pugs and bull dogs in their pack and they seem to do real well together!
Stephanie, pugmom to Louie Livewire, born 3/15/06 and my 2 angels waiting at the bridge....the very special Junior, my pug angel who is doing agility at the rainbow bridge 11/22/91 - 3/13/06, and the very special Danny, my first dog, a Dandie Dinmont Terrier 4/5/70 - 2/10/84
He sounds wonderful, I really like bulldogs.
I think Pat (Pat's Crew) has an English Bulldog, I'm sure if you were to PM her she would be able to answer your questions.

So go get you son. Wubbles, I love it. Tessiesmom keeps a big cheerful booldog with her small black pug, Patscrew has two bulldogs and two or three pugs. Go get your boy.
I am sure Pat can answer a lot of questions but from my experience, they are loveable, calmer and more laid back, but Duddley here has had a hip replacement and a torn ACL. their heavy bodies are tough on their legs. They are very expensive to purchase , over 2000 listed here in paper.

Better he be fostered with you, who have some experience with a brachy breed and know how to clean wrinkles etc., then be fostered by someone who has no clue.
Sounds like you coordinator has the right idea in this case.
Herm, I am going to email Pat. I have Pugsby on Doggie insurance, and I would just put Mr. Wubbles on our plan in the event of hip dysplesia or anyother Bully (<- Slang for English Bulldog I feel so cool!)
ailment. Hubby is now on the fence as that would mean another one to potty train, but I said "You're not the one who cleans it up," and he was all "Well, do I REALLY have a say in this," and I was all "No."and that was the end of that. Especially since he likes our bed and not the couch.
