SWMBO finally gave in to my constant lobbying for another Pug. This week we completed an adoption application with MAPR. We were not at all restrictive in what we are willing to adopt. I would like a fawn male, but am willing to adopt any Pug that needs it. Wish us luck, I have heard that MAPR can be pretty demanding (understably) and can take quite a while to process applications. I really can't wait to have another Pug in the family. I understand that a male would probably get along better with our girl , Minni, who runs the family now. I don't want to cause her any stress. We decided to go with a rescue for couple of reasons. First, SWMBO doesn't want to go through the whole puppy ordeal again, regardless of how cute they are. Second, there are just so many Pugs out there needing forever homes. I'll give MAPR a few months and if I don't hear anything from them, I'll go through other agencies. Can anybody recommend another rescue that deals in the Baltimore/Washington area? I've been looking on Pet-finder and I'm not sure about the geographic limits of some of the agencies listed.
Thank you for adopting instead of shopping! I will keep positive thoughts for you that your new family member will be with you soon! When you do get him or her remember that we love pictures! I'm not sure about other pug agencies---Maybe just checking out to see if they adopt out of state is mentioned anywher on their web site? Best Wishes!![]()

I have fostered for MAPR and I would guess you will hear back from them sooner rather than later. All rescues are busting at the seams and if there is a good home available they will act on it. Thank you for going with rescue, there are soo many that need homes.

WOW Sue! Colorado Pug Rescue just announced last night that we are at capicty with 70 pugs in foster care. I just cannot imagine anyone giving up their pet, but times have gotten so rough! I hope all these great animals will get the loving home they all deserve! I currently have one in my home in foster care.

Thats great you want to rescue! Pug Rescue of Florida has over 120 pugs right now and we have 15 on wait because we do not have foster homes. If this doesn't work out, try PRONE. Pug Rescue of New England There are so many pugs all over the country that need a home like yours!

I just adopted a rescue and would never get anything but a rescue! They are so affectionate and give lots of love because they are gratful they have a home and a person to love them. I'm not sure how far you want to go, I live in York, Pa and adopted my pug from Worthy Tails Rescue out of Mechanicsburg, PA. They had foster homes near York and I received one through them. They are on petfinder. They have alot of pugs sometimes
Thanks all, MAPR has been in touch and they are processing our application now.
