I am so excited! After 6 weeks, Emmett has finally found a forever home! I will be meeting his mom half way on Monday.
It has been an interesting 6 weeks, and must say that I can hardly wait to bring home my next foster!
Emmett has come a long way in these weeks. His personality has come out in bits and pieces and I suspect that it will come out more once he is in his new home. I was asked how I could foster and not adopt every dog that comes through my home, but I feel such a sense of accomplishment that when I pass on this animal on to his/her new mom, I see an wonderful companion that is no longer afraid, is trained and is ready for the next phase of his life.
Emmett, I will miss you, but know that you are about to enter into a new and wonderful par of your life!

His new mom wanted to pick him up earlier than next Monday, but then she was leaving in a couple of days, so I told her to just let him hang out with us for the weekend. I thougt it would be better for him since we are about to change his world again.
Emmett has really come a long way in 6 weeks. He no longer piddles in the house, sleeps on the bed with the rest, knows "sit", and almost knows "shake". The last time I took him to the vet, my vet was amazed at how more relaxed Emmett was around humans. I can hardly wait for next Monday to get here! (plus I get a day away from the store--LOL!).
My hubby is worried that our Daisy-Mae is going to miss him, but I think she will be just fine. It may not be too long before I take in another pug to foster as I hear that there are 4 Puppy Mill Pugs waiting to come into foster and there is at least 1 or 2 seniors waiting as well.
I hope those that have thought about fostering really will consider it! It is so rewarding!!![]()
