    Default Craigslist Creeper

Does anyone else "creep" on Craigslist?
I search everyday in surrounding areas and call or email the owners who are selling or as they call it re-homing their PUGS and try to convince them to surrender to our local rescue, I actually brought Home Piglet this way and she decided to keep us :)

I was wondering if I'm the only crazy person out there that thinks craigslist is a place for pet-flippers and pets purchased from there will most likely end up re-homed again in a revolving cycle...

Actually, that is why I am gently but firmly opposed to breeding pugs. For every litter within two generations, pugs that had loving homes will be dumped by children of deceased parents, pugs considered too expensive to spay or neuter will be taken by people eager to make a hundred dollars a puppy every six months. Many of these bewildered animals have passed through the CL cycle. Rarely will anyone advertising relinquish to a rescue, they believe that the rescue will sell for a profit so why shouldn't they. I have rescued, transported, fostered and paid my vet to send his children to Harvard. Craigslist, Dollar Thrifty, Nickel Thrifty and kill shelter fill with the cast offs of busy families and overstocked breeders. And it all starts with an adorable litter of puppies.

I agree! Which is why I am microchipping and adding a contract for return with Lucy's Pups. I also will know where they live as it will be with my family :) I couldn in good faith buy a puppy from a back yard breeder to fund them doing it again. We wanted pups and have plenty of rescues and fosters so Instead of going to a pet-shop to support a Puppy Mill or buying from a Ebay Add, we did the next best thing and bred our princess to a beautiful male. I would keep them all before I sold even one of them to a stranger...

And actually YES some people on craigslist have a heart, Oliver the Liver shunt Pup was advertised for 250$ because he had a health condition I talked to the distraught owner for 2 hours about the reasons she could not sell this very sick puppy, she surrendered him to me where I spent over 500$ out of pocket and then placed him with Pug Rescue... The same goes for Lucy (well Kinda) My aunt is in the cat show world and knew of a woman who breed persians and Pugs, her cattery was infested with ringwoem and she was putting prised show cats down, my aunt knew about my love for Frank my experience with Fostering and gave me this womans #... She was P'O'd at first and quite embarrased but in the end was happy to have me take momma and 3 pups to get them well, of course I paid for all vet costs out of pocket, but she lost the revenue she would have made selling them for profit and trying to hid ethe illness... HEalthy Momma went back to her spayed and the pups were rehomed through the rescue...
I figure its always wortha try to ask if the craigslister really cares they may very well be willing to give the pet up, they just dont exactly know how or where. Craigslist is too easy...

Everyone loves a Pug Puppy, and not everyone that plans to and is capable of loving one forever can afford a 1-2,000 show/pet quality pup. I understand why people buy from un-reputable breeders, They are cheap :(
