Default OK, house breaking experts--need your help

We have had our chihuahua foster for three weeks now and I must say he has made alot of progress on the housebreaking. However, there are a couple of spots he JUST can't resist peeing on and I don't know what to do. One spot is on our winter boots--this I understand--I'm sure they smell fascinating. The other spot is on a lamp in my livingroom. I have gated off the livingroom and diningroom and he doesn't go in there without supervision--in fact, I don't let him go in there for more than a couple of minutes--when I see the nose go down around the lamp and the coffeetable--out he goes. I have sprayed with odor removers, mopped with lysol and pinesol, wiped down all our boots and the drip trays they are on. I have washed the little rug by the door. Today I mopped with bleach in the hopes that would curtail the peeing. Any suggestions?

I know it has only been three weeks and he has made progress. I let him out at least twice an hour and sometimes more. I restrict his access to water after 8 at night. I suppose I could shift to trying to tain him on pee pads or use the belt thing--but I hate to cave in yet. I know this little guy can get it. Is there something I'm overlooking? Something I should be doing? I've thrown out all the area rugs that were on the first floor when he got here--interestingly, he doesn't pee on the second floor or our bed or any of the dog beds.

Just remembered--he also doesn't ppe in the kitchen where I gate him when I can't keep my eyes glued to him. I do spend anytime in the livingroom and diningroom with him leashed to my waist. If I do catch him peeing on anything, I say "no", but don't yell it and immediately take him outside. It all feels a bit more like marking than peeing to me and he is neutered.

Mother Hubbard--I've gone thru two quarts of Nature's Miracle--I just keep washing things down and washing things down.

Blanche, can you get little pants for him? I have a pair for Rocky so he won't lick his stitches. They are called Daba Doo and I got them at the pet store. They have an opening for the tail and close with velcro so they are easy to get on and off. Just a thought.

I feel like Viralmd, but is there any chance of an infection of some sort?

No, we've been to the vet and he got a clean bill of health. I let him out so often to reinforce the do it outside idea--not because he has to go that often. He doesn't pee often in the house, but you can't take your eyes off of him, because as soon as I'm not looking, he's having a pee. It feels more like marking to me. He was an only dog before and I've got a house full sohopefully with time and repetition, he'll get it.

The only thing I can think of is avoid the bleach because it has amonia in it and the pup might be re-marking because he smells the amonia.

Boys like to mark-I don't have a problem with my girl, but try this stuff-the boys don't seem to remark with this stuff-it's expensive, but worked much better than Natures Miracle or anything else I tried. It's at http://www.justrite.com/123kit.htmI love this stuff! My boys were so stubborn, they still are. My girl is litter trained, would never think of having an oops, but I can't say enough about this stuff-it's so good!
