Well, Jeff finally agreed to us adopting a 2nd pug. He said he wants to not rush though so we can make sure we find the right match for our family. I turned in applications to Prairie Pugs and Midwest Pug rescue, not with any one pug in mind yet though. The main thing is we hope to find a pug who is pretty laid back like our Henry. We LOVED our Rudy Tooter and I miss him dearly but he was a bit overwhelming for Henry...and us to be honest. He was very young when we got him though, about 9 months old I believe. Henry was pretty crazy as a pup but never quite as wild as Toot.![]()
I have been focusing on the approx. 3-8 year olds mainly. I'm not opposed to older or younger, I just figure that age range would probably get along with Henry best. I would say Henry is 75% mellow and 25% playful.
If Jeff changes his mind I will kick his booty.

Max was a year old when we decided to add a second pug. A friend who is involved in small breed rescue suggested an older female because Max is not good with (even mildly) aggressive dogs and she seemed to feel that this would be the way to go. Gabby was 5 1/2 when we adopted her and it has been a perfect match.
Congratulations! When we lost Wilma in May my OH said "no" to another 3rd dog (we have a Yorkie and a Cavalier) - It only took me three weeks of mild sulking and two full days of 'turbo strop' for him to agree that another puggy is JUST what we needI *knew* he'd see it my way eventually...
So, just like you, the search begins! Unlike you, there aren't that many rescues available in the UK (Wilma was a rescue who came to us through a fantastic lady who runs an all breed rescue in Warrington in the UK) - I don't think lightening strikes twice but I'm keeping my fingers crossed we'll find a pug who really needs us!
3-8 years sounds like a good age range to me. Good luck!
I'm happy to hear that Jeff is now open to adding another family member! I know you have wanted to for a while, and you were a very good wife for waiting patiently until he could be ready too.
Hopefully Rudy Tooter can help the angels direct the rescues as to a good match for your family.
