    Smile What a lovely surprise!

Picked up the mail this evening and there was a wonderful letter from Roxane along with one of Pugdad Michael's Jake & Betsy magnets! What a sweet thing to do. It's on the fridge now and whenever I look at it, I will think of Roxane who found Jake & Betsy for me, and of all the PugVillagers who gave their time, money, effort and good wishes to bring them to me. I think it's very appropriate that it arrived between Canada Day and the U.S. Independence Day. Hands and pugs across the border.
    THANKS!!!!

And a big thanks from me as well--I also got a magnet of the (in)famous Jake and Betsy--it matches my tank top that I ordered and just received!

Roxane--much appreciated, but unnecessary!! We were happy to have a helping hand out to these two little munchkins. Although everyone else did all the work--I was just a pit stop.

Kent and I were tickled pink when we opened our mail last week and found a Jake and Betsy magnet too! We are so glad we were able to help these 2 beautiful pugs out.

    Thanks Roxanne!

Just as a funny aside . . . I was the one who signed "us" up for a Jake and Betsy transport leg - hubby (Kent) thought I was crazy, but reluctantly offered to help. Well, believe it or not, Kent is still talking about how wonderful it was to help and how glad he is that we did. He checks regularly on PV for updates on Jake and Betsy and is ordering a Jake and Betsy T-Shirt for himself. He's also talking about fostering.

Jake and Betsy are special pugs and while we helped them get to their forever home, they helped us and maybe many more people learn more about rescue and fostering.

I guess I'll have to post about them more. As for right now, Betsy is sleeping in again (getting to be a habit) after an afternoon of squirrel-chasing and Jake is conked out at my feet, snuggled into Gooey. But when I get up to do another load of laundry, he'll be right with me.

You're right about the rescues helping us. I've learned more about myself and the goodness (as well as badness) of people through rescue. And I've learned compassion, patience, tolerance, living in the moment and unconditional love from these supposedly "dumb animals". I've come to believe they are more highly evolved spiritually than we are. I want to spend time around them so it rubs off.

The magnets are great. I purchased one, along with some other stuff. I just love the design with the two nations flags. It makes me proud to be a dual citizen and adding in Jake and Betsy make it very special.
Thanks for raising money for the two rescues, Pugdads!

Oh I'm glad everyone likes them! Michael did such an awesome job with the design.

The saga of these two babies is so special. I truly thought they were goners, and then this wonderful group emerged here at Pug Village that came forward with donations of time and money, it will never cease to amaze me.

When I hear about Betsy sleeping in, I have to wonder if sometimes she wakes up and finding herself in a soft snuggly bed instead of outside, she closes her eyes, thinking it must be a dream that she doesn't want to wake from. These two little pugs truly are in heaven on earth, thanks to all of you,.

How wonderful! I got my Jake and Betsy jacket a few weeks ago, and am going to order a t-shirt and magnet too (Michael said they're still available!). Their story is so wonderful, I think it should be put into print (ahem.... Rona!) as a kid's book or something!

And always in love with my foster George, who went to live in a perfect forever home 6/7/08, and my sweet Wickett who went to live with George where he will never have to be kenneled again, and my Suki-Lee who went to live with a good friend where she will be the only dog and lavished with attention day and night!
