From Tim Reynolds:
OK Guys here is what I know for sure about the mill bust. There are between 25-35 Pugs and Puggles. I have been told that there is a hearing on Thursday to determine the fate of these poor dogs. My contact said that the humane society will try to adopt out the younger dogs of all breeds mainly to try to recoup some of the $1000's of dollars they have spent on these dogs. I was also told they know for sure they WILL need our help on some of the older breeding stock as it was called. They also will ask us to take any of the ones that are pregnant so we can be sure of the spay neuter.
Our rescue ranks in the top five with the Humane Society so they will have no problem releasing any of the dogs to us. Now we must be ready for this be it 1 or 35 Pugs. I really think a more realistic figure is 10-15 but could be a lot less.
The people at HSNT are going nuts delivering at least two to three litters of puppies very day. This was a huge operation this guy had going and now the public is finally going to see the truth about local mills.
If anyone has any questions about this please contact me and I will try to explain the best I can. In the meantime everyone needs to try to figure out a way to recruit more foster homes. All ideas are welcome. the only bad idea is the one that was not mentioned.

I did read about that on the yahoo group, but wasn't sure if I was aloud to post it. Thats so terrible. I can't do much to help but donate. I went on the site and I'm trying to get my boyfriend's dad to donate some of the things that you guys need and collect our t-shirts and newspapers and things to donate.
I am glad you have such a good reputation but its so depressing all the things we've heard and seen about this here on the news...my heart goes out to all of you and the dogs in need - i'll be praying for people to step up and help these dogs!
I love my D'Arcy and Morgan!

Everyone should feel sorry for the NTHS - they are delivery puppies multiple times during the day and night for multiple breeds!!! They are doing a remarkable job.

Sadly that one bust in Montague county isn't the only thing going on. They are dealing with some local neighborhood busts, one home had 19 dogs being mistreated this week, not to mention a few other smaller busts over the last couple of months. They have taken a hit finiancially and emotionally.
Now DFW Pug rescue and other organization are going to take some hits at an already difficult time. If I had the time or space I'd foster in a heart beat. Thats something my boyfriend and I have talked about when we live together - but until then I can just donate. I'll get on the website and vote for some pugs on the calendar contest - any requests?!
My thought and prayers go out to those who have helped, those currently helping, and those who will be helping!![]()

Kewpie needs some more calendar donations. She is special to me because I was her foster mommy. I know Gaye really wants her to be in the spring months.

I have voted for her a few times but I would love to vote for her to help get her in the calander and help DFW Pug Rescue!
I think she make the best March, April or May the calander has ever seen

Yvette, if I could transport to LB, I'd be more than happy to foster at least one and my next door neighbor might be open to it as well. But, I know that's a long shot.
"If I were a pediatrician and a mother told me, "it's just too hard making healthy food everyday for my kid, I'm just going to feed Total cereal everyday, it's 100% nutritionally complete," we'd all feel sorry for her kid. I am a vet, and when people tell me "I've found a really good dry food, I think I'...ll feed it everyday for the rest of my pets life," why don't we feel equally sad?" Dr. Karen Becker
No problem at all, if I am able to donate and help pugs and help your pretty princess make a calander i'd be more than happy to kill 2 birds with one stone...i hope PETA doesn't get mad at me for say that!
I just did a little math on my computer and so car there are 1434 votes as of 11:30 tonight, that means they have made AT LEAST that much in donations! I know it's really a small portion of the bills and costs they have, but i'm sure with everything coming up, this will help but barely cover it - so send to everyone and anyone who is willing to spend a dollar or 2 even....it's just a dollar a vote!!!!
REMEMBER THE ONLY BAD SUGGESTION IS ONE THAT IS NOT MENTIONED!!!!

Late this afternoon I finally got the call from HSNT about help they need. I gripped the phone very tightly and said OK what do we need to do and when. She then told me there were only two Pugs and a Puggle left after the Chesapeake adoptions today. Thirty two pugs and puggles were adopted today by the employees of Chesapeake Energy and a couple of HSNT employees. There was one old Pug that no teeth that a HSNT employee took and that left the three. I was at the site today and it was heart wrenching seeing all these dogs stacked in cages but at least they were clean, had food and water and most of all they were in under air conditioning. HSNT has done a wonderful job with all of this but for them it is not over. A lot of the rescue groups got real pissy with them demanding the puppies and good looking dogs of their breed. Those groups got nothing..nada...zip. They told me and I was so proud that they knew they could count on DFW PUG RESCUE to take anything they offered. Again I was told that we are the best group along with Boston Terrier rescue that they work with on a daily basis. I only wish we could have done more. If any of you have any free time and would like to help them clean and feed..it is not a pleasant job...they would welcome the help.
I will go back in the morning and get the two Pugs. The Puggle they are going to try to adopt but I told them if he is not adopted I will take him as well.
So we can relax a bit as we dodged a big bullet here. Thanks to all of you that were willing and offered to take a foster to help us out. Do not get me wrong we still have dogs at the vets office that needs a place to go but for the time being we do not expect any large intake of Pugs.
Thanks again to the BEST RESCUE in Dallas Ft Worth it is Y'all that allows me to puff out my chest and say we do it for the Pugs.
