Default Dog Appeasing Pheromone/DAP &other Calming Aids

Anyone use this to help with training/behavior issues? I was thinking that these dogs have a lot of anxious energy. They both manifest it differently, Mr. G is worse in the sense he is also very insecure and anxiously paces when he can't push us away from Jezz. His worry can sometimes consume him whereas Jezz is jut very high alert and barks if the slightest noise happens, doesn't stop and runs around the house finding the origin and get excitable scared/jumpy fairly easily.

I've heard this to help calm and reassure them that their new place is alright. I've been trying to read up on it, but most of the articles are more of a "commercial", sponsored by the the product so not sure how factual and effective this is.

Any other suggestions in helping assure and calm them is appreciated. I've heard about some flower therapies that help and I also try to get them to calm down enough with a massage- fruitless when they're too high strung, but when they're sleepy I think it helps build a bond at least. Some people told me to see if they find certain objects calming or if certain rooms are more relaxing, etc.

I am giving them plenty of time to adjust naturally and know their bearings, but it doesn't stop me from trying to find out if I can help ease it if I can.

The pug was very anxious, marking everywhere, due to being kept by himself in a barn after owners' baby arrived. The collar helped to calm him down, making it easier to re-train the potty habits. He was adopted and no longer has any issues.

I have heard good things about DAP and have been meaning to try it.
There's a segment on pheromones here:

I bought some "Rescue Remedy" after hearing it works (it contains calming flower essences) but I noticed that it's 27% alcohol so I just took some myself and skipped the dog.

You can buy DAP from Vets over here. People usualy use them when intergrating a new puppy into the home.

You can now get Bach's Rescue Remedy for Animals, having removed the alcohol and adjusted the recipe.

I use Dorwest herbs Valerian and Scullcap tablets when in Malta for the firework season I beg don't start me!http://www.petplanet.co.uk/shop_stor...200_p3372.html
Dorwest herbs also have their own site you could google.

LOL. you are too funny! I don't have much info about calming aids, but I did try these treats with Otto once that were supposed to be "calming" and it had a "dosage" amount. I didn't notice any difference in him at all.
