My puggie man did the same thing!!! lolWe have to watch him like a hawk..cause he knows what he is not to go near, but dosen't alway do it...he will run like the dickens when he has something he is not supposed to....as for restricting the area that is the best advice....we close the doors to rooms he not to go into when we are not there and we have the basment door blocked off so he can't go down there either. He has his toys and water and Chewie..so he is fine.
I would get something unappetizing for the furniture that they are chewing. Bitter apple sprays on that favorite spot can get them to look for something else. I just get a ton of chewy toys and try to put it around the area they are destroying to get them to be chewing the right things. They NEED to chew, just don't want it to be the couch.

We tried the bitter apple stuff to try to stop our border collie puppy from chewing on Zoey, lol. It worked for a bit, but I don't think the taste lasts very long, poor Zoey.
Zoey used to chew on everything, remote controls, the phones, toilet paper, and yuk femine products if you know what I mean. But at 5 years old she doesn't chew anymore. Thank goodness she didn't chew the furniture, the damage that she did to the remote controls was expensive enough. We just learnt to keep everything picked up, bathroom garbage cans empty and waited until she grew out of it. Enjoy the puppy years, they are way too short I think.
Scooby is the same, we just try our best to keep everything out of his reach. The house is the easy bit, it's when we're on walks it gets more difficult - he has a real love for chewing gum! I am developing hawk eyes and I just try to look ahead of where he walks as much as possible :) x
