Default Are training classes worth it?

Hi everyone well I have two 13 week old black pugs and of course as they grow they have been listening less lol so I was wondering if training classes will actually help? Or if I should just give it a try myself? They seem like they teach them pretty basic thing but that would help me out alot since I take care of them all day and usually they just run wild lol

Next about housebreaking them they see
To be doing ok lol but they always go in certain spots well mostly my boy how do I change that habit? How do you help them learn to let me know Shen they have to go? They have a regular eating times.

Also where are the best places to socialize them? My boy is very outgoing but my girl is shy she will whine for me anytime someone else holds her. I have had other dogs who were aggressive because I didn't socialize them enough.

Sorry this is so long I need some advice :) thank you all.

Yes, training classes ARE worth it, especially if you yourself have never done one.....you and your dogs will learn. I suggest finding a trainer that uses positive methods. It might be best to take the dogs separately, I know it's harder with two, but they both need to learn individually. I would start out with a puppy socialization class where they can meet other dogs their age.

As far as potty training, if they keep going to the same spot, make sure you clean it up with a product like Simple Solution so they won't keep going back to the smell. I would limit their access to carpeted areas until they are well trained. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen with mine at that age, with a baby gate up so that they would not be able to potty in areas that are hard to clean up or hide it. You need to take them out often...after a meal, nap, or play session. They are still young and don't have the ability to hold it for very long. Many pugs never learn to give a signal of when they need to go out. You just have to keep them on a schedule and take them out when you think it's time.

A good training class is so, so worth it, plus you get socialisation in a properly controlled environment. It also encourages you to keep up the training at home because you don't want to get shown up in class next week!

Definitely take the training class they are so worthwhile!!

There are several enzyme cleaners on the market and most do a really good job removing the stain and odour. Simple Solution, Natures Miracle and Urine Off come to mind but there could be others.

I agree that training classes are well worth it! They can be a lot of fun for both you and your pugs, you'll get some great tips even if there are some things you already know, and it's a great place to socialize in an appropriate and safe environment.

I debated if they were worth it myself as I had to drive an hour & half (at night) to take the classes and times 2 (one for each pug). It was worth every minute of the drive, although the pugs beg to differ on the drive part, and every penny I paid for the class. We all learned a lot. I say yes take the classes.

Thank you all so much. I am going to take them I decided now just checking where they have classes around my area. Did anyone take them like to petco or did you find a private place? Thanks again :)

I went to a class at PetSmart and the trainer was very good, but not all trainers are equal so ask what kind of methods they use.
