I am happy to report that Milo is doing amazing with his house training. It seems to easy since we went through a nightmare trying to trying to train our chihuahua chewy. He peed in the house until he was two!
Milo no longer has pee pads in the house. I just watch him closely and take him out often. I am starting to see signs of him trying to hold it a bit until I can get him out so he can get his piece of kibble for a treat. At night, and when I can't watch him, we crate him. His crate is a size large petmate kennel cab. We have half of it divided off with a cardboard box so he can't pee in one end. Since he is getting to be a big boy, I wonder if he has enough space. How do you know its time to give more space to a puppy? Should he be able to completely stretch out his body or just curl up a bit. I would hate to take the box out and have him start peeing in the crate but I think he is ready for more space. What do you think?
Also, does anyone have this crate and do you think it will be an adequate size for a fully grown pug? I wonder if we will have to upgrade later on. A size large doesn't really seem that big. Here is a picture of the crate we have :)
specs "26.2 inches long x 18.6 wide x 16.5 inches high for pets up to 15 inches tall"
I use the wire crates, I just like the ability to be able to completely see them. The size I use most is 24Lx18Wx21H, that fits my girl who is about 18 lbs very nicely.
I do have multiple crates of all sizes but this one seem to be just right.

I also use the wire crates. That's the size I have too. But when I leave them for longer times...I have the 19x30 ...gives them a little more room.
I use the plastic crates in the car and wire in the house. I have several and use them all. I like larger for confining, smaller for feeding.
Take care,

I bought the largest crate I could get that was wire.
big enough for both bulldogs if necessary to fit in or all 3 pugs to have tons of room in it..
also use an x pen here too and love it as well
the door is always open here and all the dogs go in just to take a breather and time out in it
A pugs world is full of play and sleep and of course good food.........
I think we have the same one that you show in the picture. Buddy is still really tiny (approx 5 lbs). He sleeps in that one at night with a cushion in it and he has yet to pee in it. There is quite a bit of room for him to get up and move around without it being really huge, but it's small enough that he doesn't like to pee in there. He will whine if he needs to go out at night to go pee.
ETA: I think ours might be a medium size...
Thanks for the replies :) I think we are going to take the box out and give Milo a trial with the whole crate. If I notice he is peeing in there, we are going to try a smaller box to block off the back half.
Let me know how it goes!
Try feeding him in the crate a couple of times after taking the box out. 2x the message = I don't potty where I sleep and I don't potty where I eat.
