Hello,
I'll be bringing home a 9 week old pug puppy this weekend, and have a question about sleep. I plan to crate train him while I'm housebreaking and training him, so he'll have a crate. I'll be sending him to doggie daycare, and they'll help with the training there as well. I plan to bring his crate into my bedroom at night so that he'll be closer to me. Once he's a little older and will reliably wake me up if he needs to go potty or can hold it through the night, I'd like to be able to let him sleep in my bed. Would that interfere with his housebreaking/crate training during the day? Do people let their pug puppies sleep with them?
Thanks!
Hello and welcome to the village.
I adopted my girl full grown and potty trained so I don't keep her in a crate. She sleeps with me at night. I'm sure there will be some others along shortly that will have a better answer for you. Congrats on your new puppy!

When we first got Diesel he wasn't 100% potty trained but was a bit older (about 4 months). Around 4-5 months he should be able to go all night without needing to use the bathroom other than the odd time (which we still have and he's over a year old) and once he's potty trained he will most likely wake you up if he needs to go.
Both of ours sleep with us and if they wake up in the night and need to go, they always make sure to wake us up, even if they're about to burst.

We got Tinker when she was 12 weeks and she has slept with us from the first night with no accidents. She was the last puppy and I think she had been sleeping with the breeder or her little girl!!
Minni has slept with us since she was a puppy. When she was younger, we just took her out when she needed to go. As she got older she was able to make it through the night.
