Frida is 14-weeks old and is generally a superstar sleeper at night. WE usually take her out at 9pm and then set an alarm for 3-3:30am and take her out again. The thing is, I have noticed that when I get up at that hour, she is often sound asleep. I wonder if I should start to let her go and see what happens? The problem is, we've found that she does not whine or scratch at her crate door when she needs to go...I honestly think she might just go right in her crate! I say that because it's happened before when we didn't get up fast enough. You have to hear her rustling around and sometimes we are both so dead to the world asleep I don't know that I hear her! So I am wondering at what point we should stop setting the alarm...at what point should she be able to sleep ALL night without going out? We are up by 6am so she would need to hold it from 9pm-6am. THANKS!
Can you try setting the alarm for 4, and see if she makes it.... if so, do that for a few nights, and if she's still dry, go to 4:30 and so on..... her bladder will be growing with the rest of her! :)

Believe me you will hear her WHINE if she has to go out in the night......
MINE always did..........I did the same thing set the alarm and then I just let them set their own schedule......and it worked.
if I happened to be up in the night..........I would wake up the pup and put them out.........
but they all whimpered if they had to go out...all of them

Increase the time for the alarm 30 mins each week.

I never got up to Elsa!!! We had her from 8 weeks. She is crated at night and although, yes we had to clean the bed to start with, I believe she was 'dry/clean' within a few days. No fuss, just whipped out the bedding, placed in clean.
I was told because dogs don't like to mess their beds this was the quickest way to learn... she also never made a noise to be let out! (Still doesn't!)
I'd rather sleep and wash the odd bed and be awake enough to cope with the day (but I'm hopeless with disturbed sleep)
Good luck
JJ and of course Elsa
