Minni will sometimes grab something she's not supposed to have and start working on it right in front of me so s he can get a treat in trade. She has me well trained in this and many other aspects of life. This girl is smart.
Mz Tilly has grown out of the chewing. Or maybe the ink from the pen convinced her not everything is a chewey. Now it seems her chewing is limited to her stuffed toys. Or Licking a blanket.
My pug will try to eat or play with everything it can fit in it's mouth, including his own bed, chair legs, toilet paper, shoes, the cat's tail etc. (I've seen things in his poop that I couldn't even identify). He has plenty of toys, but I'm guessing he can't yet tell the difference between things that are acceptable and things that are not. I just try to not leave anything I think he could chew within his reach, and keep a close eye on him so that if I see him try, I can correct him and give him an acceptable toy. I also try to keep every door in the house shut so he has limited access to where he can go. Seems like a very common problem that just takes patience and a watchful eye. :)
