My puppy Oscar is 6 weeks old aND I need to know what is the best food brand to get him and also how to potty train him
Go to DogFoodAdvisor.com and pick the best 4 or 5 star food you can afford. You can also use the "Search" feature here on the forum to look for advise on dog food and potty training.

He is really VERY young!!!! Barely off his mom! I would put him on Eukanuba puppy small bites right now....maybe with a bit of a evangers chicken or chicken and rice. I would be soaking his food til it's soft (like mush) at this point before giving it to him. He should be eating 4 times/day..... on a good schedule. Gradually next week, start to soften the food less until at close to 8 wks he is on the hard food with water and some canned. By 8 wks he should be fed 3 times a day.....depending on his size (don't want him fat) go to 2 times a day at 4-6 months. I also change to adult food at that time. You can change his food SLOWLY to a different brand after he's about 12 weeks old. Change should take at least a week to make...adding a little of the new food and increasing the amount of the new food and less of the old every 2 days til the change over is made!
He's WAY too young for house breaking!!! Best you can do is get wee wee pads and when you see him starting to act like he's gonna go...place him on one!
He has had no shots...should get shots at 8, 12 and 16 weeks. Once he has at least 2 shots....can go outside! Should NOT be on the ground where other dogs or animals might have been til then. Not at vet...carry him in.....Not in pet store...no place!
Enjoy your baby!!!! Post pics when you can!
As far as potty training, I took Molly outside at least every hour. When we got to the grass, I would say "go potty," every few seconds until she either peed or pooped. I immediately gave her a small treat and praised her EVERY time she did her business until she learned that any time we went out the back door, she was suppose to potty. After she learned that, every time she happened to walk in front of that door, I would immediately say, "Do you need to go potty?" and take her directly outside. She caught on to that part pretty quick. Now, any time she needs to potty she goes and stands in front of that door. It took me two months, which in my opinion isn't bad! I started that when I got her at 8 weeks, and she was completely potty trained by the time she was 4 months old. Good luck!

A dog teaches fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down.
I take Bella out whenever she wakes up because she takes a lot of naps during the day.
She usually urinates (couldn't find the right word) almost immediately after she steps out the door.

“Owners of dogs will have noticed that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they will think you are god. Whereas owners of cats are compelled to realize that, if you provide them with food and water and shelter and affection, they draw the conclusion that they are gods.”

Oscar has had his first sets of shots for parvo virus and edenovirus and my gf said not to have other dogs around him till he has all his shots by that time she was too late Oscar had been playing with my neighbors chihuahuas which have all their shots, she brought them over today and Oscar was playing but now he threw up and pooped a lil runny .. should I be concerned .. I fed him some food and he only ate a lil bit of it .. I would love to post pictures of Oscar but I'm not on a computer and this site doesn't let me upload from my phone
Yes I would be very concerned. He should not be near other dogs or even put on the ground outside untill he has had all his jabs which is around 12 weeks. Young puppy's dehydrate so fast and can go down hill in hours. I would get him to a vet ASAP. And keep him indoors away from other dogs.
6 weeks is very young... Hope you are settling in well with the new arrival. Expect a lot of accidents!
