Just curious how long it takes a dog to get used to it's new home. We have been here a few weeks and everytime I say "mamas home" when my wife starts to open the door, Chino runs into the bedroom and stares at the closet. I know it's funny, but I feel so bad for her. She really wants to go to the front door. I walk her in to the front door and then she gets excited. Hope this changes over time.
I wouldn't give this another thought, unless training him to go to the front door (which I would NOT encourage - a lot of pugs have been lost like that) is important to you.

Nope, not important. Actually I just came home from shopping and found Chino at the top of the entry way stairs. She never had stairs at the other place and does not know how to go down them, so she just lays at the top. We had to teach her to not run full speed out the sliding glass door, until it was open. I pull the shades now until she needs to go out. Thank you.
Friends of ours use those reusable window decals on their sliding glass doors to help keep their new puppy from running into the glass. They place the decals right at Brutus' eye height.
