Default Product Rave - Carpet Cleaner

While I assume you can all guess how this could be Pug Training related  I wanted to pass along a good experience I had with the Bissel Little Green heated carpet cleaner using the Pet Odor and Soil cleaning solution. I am a clean freak and a particularly picky person when it comes to product promises

I purchased this over the weekend to clean my carpet after a few puppy accident spots, mysteriously appearing spots and one large spot which was the original inspiration for the purchase. Giardia is unfortunately very common here in Colorado and Joey became ill with that about a month ago. He has since recovered but there was one big accident which I probably spent a total combined time of about an hour trying to get that completely up to no avail (even with nature's miracle!)

It was a spendy little purchase for me and I was worried that it wouldn't work as well as I hoped, but it was great! My carpet looks wonderful and where the spots once were is now completely clean.

Anyway, I just wanted to pass this info along to all of you who have little pugs going through the joy and woes of housetraining.... as well as those everday little spills (read: messy fiance/boyfriend/husband). I learned of this product from a tv advertisement featuring a jack russel terrier boucing around up and down and clean up after him, not sure if anyone else has seen that... I found it so amusing and true to life as my sister has two jrt's.

isn't it great? I was so happy that it worked so well. I like to have our carpets professionally cleaned, but that's not something that is easy for us to do frequently and it can get expensive. This was just so nice for quick little touch ups.

I have another bissel which I don't think they make anymore.

It works great as well. Perhaps too good! We only have area rugs & they unfortunately have patches of white, I got it initially to clean up cat puke. When I cleaned the puke, the rest of the white looked dirty. It's been on my 'to do' list for awhile now to clean the white patches, but with such a small machine, it runs out of liquid before I can finish the job :(

THANKS!!!! I'm going to look into buying the little bissel b/c when we have a rug that I cleaned and cleaned and CLEANED during Cody's housetraining experience and I tried every product on the market practically, and nothing seemed to get the stains completely out! I had pretty much given up on this rug and poistioned it under my living room sofa where no one could see the stains.....it also has a nasty blood stain from when my baby kitty Ty got declawed after X-mas and had opened one of her wounds by accident. If this thing is as great as u all say....then it will shortly become a new family memember! Ha ha! Thanks SO much for the tip!

I have the Bissell Proheat Clearview. It's a bigger machine but does a great job. I really think that the heated water makes the difference. It also has all of the upholstery attachments. This one holds enough water and cleaning solution to clean my entire living room without have to refill.

With 3 dogs and 2 kids in the house, I just leave it plugged in and ready to go at all times. Seems like I use it just as often as I use the vacuum cleaner these days.

Kristen - I hope it works for you as well as it did for me. I did get the more expensive Little Green version that heats the water and be sure to get the Pet Odor and Soil solution (at least that was what worked so well for me). I also think that makes a difference in the cleaning ability.

I was very skeptical about whether or not I was going to be right back at Target to return the machine, but I have happily thrown the box and packaging away and found a spot for it in the laundry room. Last night I vacuumed and was just so happy that my carpets look nice again. I, too, had tried just about anything to get the stains out myself.

I would have loved to get a full-sized machine as PhoebesMom mentioned, but I don't have a lot of storage room or money to spend on this. Something I could do the entire carpet with would be great, but this will work for now. If you have the option, I say go for the full-sized model
    Happy cleaning, ha ha...

I was afraid of this happening, too, but luckily it did not I could just see myself attempting to clean the entire carpet with this thing!!
