Rosco doesn't talk back but he must have the last word...when he barks at home and it's inappropriate (i.e not warning me someone is coming) we tell him to "shush"....if we are close to him we put our finger over his lip....he will ALWAYS let out another quick single low bark to get the last word in....

Joey is a quiet pug!!! I almost wish he was a little more vocal honestly. The first time Joey barked it surprised him, it was so cute.

He always does the woo woo woo type bark. Once he barked back at me when I wanted him to do something, but usually he barks at inanimate objects such as the couch (when he wasn't big enough to jump up on his own and it was frustrating him, ha ha), the table (something he wants might be on it or at least he thinks so), the wall (not sure why in this case), etc. It's very funny. Now he has learned if he can't get to a toy that is under a dresser or behind something that I'll get it for him when he barks. I wish he did bark or whine when he wants to go outside... he will casually walk by the front door. When he was younger and if we don't notice that signal then it was off to find a quiet place to potty.

our ralphie does the same thing. especially when we're at the dining table eating. if we don't give him any food...he starts whining and making all sorts of funny noises...i think to make sure we know he's there waiting for some food. those are his frustrated noises. it soo funny.
