Emma has been my main concern as she is the one that is the closest to me. She is also the one that sleeps with me and is my late night companion until hubby gets home. She makes me feel secure. She has been this way since she came home 5 years ago. I have a bed for her set up in the nursery and when we are working in there she goes right to her bed and just sits and waits for further instruction. We have also been introducing the entire pack to the swing, stroller, and car seat. With the swing and car seat we are teaching them to "leave it" when seen. It has been going very well. At first Emma did not like the dolly that I put in the car seat, she sat on the couch and barked at it for 10 minutes, she is now over it. I put the car seat in the middle of the floor and they now stop a good foot away from it. I know it will be diffrent when there is a crying baby in it, but it is a start. I don't expect the "pack" to really be bothered by the baby. They will remain on the same schedule as they have been the past 8 years. They have also been around my 3.5 year old neice and 18 month nephew since the day they were born and never showed any signs that we could have issues. I think that training and schedules are the key. I will let you know in 3 months how it is going! LOL

We didn't have any problems. Unfortunately, after having a c-section, I couldn't bend down to pet either of them. They are also jumpers, so we were really having to keep them at bay when they were near me, they couldn't crawl in my lap and I had to keep pillows surrounding me so that I wouldn't be their springboard. I would let them sit up on the couch when I had the baby--their faces were usually pushed right up against his legs. When he would lay on his boppy, Macie would always lay her head next to him (and pug hair does NOT come off of the newborn lounger very well).

He is starting to find them funny now. He watches them from the exersaucer or bouncer. Thhey are always licking him. Mia has gotten him in the mouth several times, of course it grosses me out--they lick their butts, I boil his nipples, but I might as well get used to the fact that it will happen a lot the next few years.

They've never had a problem with him. Mia did pee on the couch twice, but that has been recently, when I went back to work.

I think everything will be fine.

    Hi Mindy

I haven't been on here in forever.

    Congrats!

Your pugs will be fine. Scooter and Lulu have had to adjust twice. My daughter is 2 and we just had a son last month.

I would keep talking to them about the baby. And then have your husband bring something home from the hospital. Like a blanket, so the dogs pick up the scent.

    I'm sure they'll be a.o.k

I think there's also a book called preparing Fido

    Goodluck
