Default Anybody else with a marking BITCH????

This really isn't a training problem, I think, but has more to do with the lack of stability she's had during her first 2 years. We've gotten it under control - she marks only outside and in areas that I've let her know are okay - but it's such an oddity that I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this. I have another girl that lifts her leg while peeing but this one actually backs up to trees, fence, bushes, the side of the house and, regrettably, the other Pugs while they're peeing....
She's not particularly alpha, just seems to need to establish that this is her home and her pack... This is her 5th - and LAST - change of home in her 2.5 years.

Lucy and Ethyl, the 2 year old sisters that were just surrendered to Pugsavers, were marking like crazy in their last home. It was their third or fourth (depending on who is telling the story) in their two years of life. I think they were doing it to try to mark a home. Sounds like a similar issue to your girl's. Oddly enough, they haven't done it once since they got to their foster home.

My female Rottie rescue Jasmine that I had years ago was the biggest marker I have ever had far surpassing any of my boys. She also was on outside marker and not inside but when we would go hiking there was not one tree, bush, leaf or blade of grass that she wouldn't call her own.

My intact girls have ALWAYS marked. The are notorious for finding any blanket or bed that is not theirs and dribbling just enough to make me scream. It is always corrected as soon as they are spayed. What little bitches they can be!!!!

I had never heard of this, but never had an intact female anything either...

    once again PV educates!

I can say: my little niko does the cutest little butt wiggle: left, right, left, right while getting into her squat before she
lifts her left leg the tiniest but most definite bit to pee!

I have a 10 year old (Abby) and I have had her since she was 18 months, she is spayed and has always marked, on bushes etc and also on her sister pugs if they get in her way and she goes all over the yard marking several times just like a boy.

Nilla is a big-time outside marker. She doesn't mark in the house, but she lifts her little leg in the air to mark trees, bushes and anything else she can during walks. If she sees Wonka pee on something first, she'll go over and urinate in the same spot. In fact, if she's taking her time and won't go pee, we just show her a spot where Wonka has gone and she'll hurry up and mark it! Someone in our pug play group last weekend saw her doing it and said, incredulously, "Did she just lift her leg to mark?!?"

Oh Sarina, I know how you feel. With 4 intact girls, we daren't leave a cushion on the sofa anymore, because one or all of them will be right on it peeing for England! Molly was spayed years ago and althought she cocks her leg and pee's over everyone else's outside, she doesn't mark in the house.

My foster Cookie would mark over everyones pee outside a million times.
She even hikes her leg up.
Her sister Nula marks like a male pug. She will mark in the house. I kept catching her when I baby sat. I have never seen it prior to this.

Mimi was apparently a puppy mill mommy and was not spayed until she was rescued at approximately 7-8 years old. She hikes her leg and is definitely a marker inside and out
