How about a contest to benefit rescues and shelters?

There could be an entry fee payable through PayPal and the winner of the contest gets to choose the 501(c)3 non-profit rescue or shelter of their choice for the proceeds to be given to.

For example:

Contest, most charming senior picture.

Entry fee $10.

Winner chooses Arizona Pug Rescue or South Texas Humane Society, etc. to donate the proceeds from all entries.

Other contest ideas:

Rescue dog of the month/year/week (pictures and/or story)
Puppy of the month/year/week
Pug Pal (person) of the Month/year/week (can be by nomination)
New poster of the month

etc, etc, etc.

It would be nice if there was some sort of banner or photo somewhere on the site which changed every so often or every time you opened a new page. People could submit banners with their pugs / animals on if they wanted to be included.

I don't know how much hard work it would be, but it would be a nice way to see different photos up and get everyone involved :)

Sorry to be a grammar snob, but next to the help desk forum, where it says "Registered Member's (sic) only" there should not be an apostrophe. Apostrophes only show possession for personal names, not plural nouns, unless one is going to write something like, "This is the members' forum to post help questions." Thanks! It's bugged me for a long time (before the site changed hands), but now that it's summer, I have time to bring it up!

I think the spot she means is under the Village Hall category on the main forum page, near the bottom:
