Me too. I often hit the cps lock button instead of the "a" and, voila, lots of caps and one missing "a".

I think it's more to emphasise words rather than to show up in search engines. As far as I know it doesn't make a difference whether it is in capitals or not to be picked up by the "google bots" :) x

As someone who has been on the internet almost since Al Gore invented it :-), I have to admit that random capitalization of words drives me nuts! It is meant to connote shouting, so those words are read with special emphasis...
When it is random words in a phrase, it is annoying and I will stop reading whatever it is with the word(s).

Yikes. Since we can't italicize or use bold face in thread titles I use caps for the word I want to emphasize. I never use all caps since that does connote shouting.
My understanding is that it is acceptable to use caps to emphasize words of "important meaning"--now I am going to have to check my AP Styleguide so as not to offend anyone!
