Exclamation Millie is a senior with some issues

Hello everyone. Perhaps someone can offer me some advice on my 13 year old pug, Mildred. She is completely deaf , her eyesight is failing, and she has arthritis along with joint pain. She looks like me when she gets up in the morning. Very stiff and a littler disorientated. Her body may be failing her but she still has so much love to give, and she still seems to be enjoying her life. My problem is that within the last several months she has begun to "leak" while asleep. It is becoming more frequent. It doesn't smell like urine, it's more water-like. This is a problem for us since Millie loves to cuddle in bed with us. Diapers are an option. I was wondering has anyone else experienced this? If so, what is it, and is there a medical solution. Thank yopu all and best wishes.

Hello &to the village! Love the seniors. You might want to run a urine to the vet's to see if she has a UTI. If not she may have some incontinence due to age as you suspect. I think diapers are a good solution but I haven't had this problem. I'm sure someone will chime in. Glad you found us.

I forgot to mention the joint supplements. Tinker gets an injection of Adequan every month.

There is something that might help the in continence! It's a hormone, I think. Talk to your vet!!!!

Hi & I don't have any great advice, but you've already been given some. Millie sounds like such a special little soul! It is hard when our babies get old & start having these issues. The little Pug we used to have, our dear little Tawny, had arthritis & other issues really bad--she lived to 15 yrs old. I bought a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement from the Drs. Foster & Smith catalog, & she was also on Rimadyl from the vet. Bless your hearts for taking such good care of that little old girl, and doing your best to keep her happy!
