Default Team Pudding Paris Show Results

    FOURTH PLACE

Today was the Champion of France, International Dog Show in Paris.

It was a huge show, the French equivalent of Crufts. It's also the venue for next years World Dog Show.
A very well organised Show with large classes of 22/24 being normal. Fabulous trade stands. We were invited for cocktails at the French Pug Dog Club Stand.

We were in Intermediate class and got 4th Place we were behind a Norwegian dog 3rd place, 2nd place was a french dog and 1st place was a Brazilian pug from Anjos kennels, the dog lives in Austria.

All the same people that I met at Crufts were there...except for the English, they don't seem to do the European tour. There was a very large turnout of foreign dogs and many took the prizes.

After the judge had awarded the places, he took me aside and said he really, really liked Pudding and would have placed her higher except she must walk with more implusion driving with her hind legs. So I let her down, I didn't gait her properly and that is a lack of experience on my part. We could have done better but I'm still learning, we've only been showing for 9 months. I almost wish he hadn't told me that but its information like this I need to improve.. he also told me how to fix it!
I have home work to do.

She was perfect on the table and he gave her an Excellent for her grade meaning she is champion quality.
He also gave her a fantastic written critique.

I'm really delighted in the result because I didn't expect to us to place in such a large show with competion from the big breeders in the show world. We were presented with a 4th place medal... our first lol

I would love it, if our shows were run so that the judges could give critiques, of their placements.

    HUGE CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!

    I would love it too!!!

Congrats on your nice placement and great compliments.

You got a wonderful blessing.......someone telling you an easy fix for your girl!!!

No matter how long you show....each dog you show shows differently and you need to adapt to that specific pug. It often takes someone to tell you!

This is how it goes Bethy, I'm translating from the french.

Excellent construction/build, good size, good weight, teeth clean and correct, head strong and well rounded. Muzzle short, eyes large and well placed, beautiful expression. Ears a little light. Excellent topline; chest barrel, well developed. Excellent front and rear, Excellent ribs and shoulders. Angulation well marked front and rear. Excellent presentation and character.

We get a written critique at every show. It's interesting to compare them.

    Well done Team Pudding!
I think that's wonderful that the judge was able to give you such helpful advice.

It's so helpful to know just what the judge thinks of your dog. When we leave the ring, all we know is that we did or didn't win. We never know how the judges come to the decisions that they come to, be it good or bad.
