    Default Question about dog shows

There is a dog show coming to my area (Toledo) that I am planning to go to (just as a spectator). I have never been to one before so I'm not sure how things work. Is there a judging for best of breed? If so how would I find out when the pugs are? I wouldn't want to miss that. Also, can I bring my girl or are only dogs that are showing allowed?

    This show isn't til June...right?????

A week before the show...you can go to this site

    http://www.infodog.com/panels/oh.htm

Find the Toledo show...and click on that...then go to the judging program and look through that. It will have the time that the pugs are shown.

It's important to be there at that time...as it is not a benched show..and all the pugs will be leaving shortly after being shown...except for the one that wins Best of Breed.

Pugs are generally shown early in the morning.

They will definitely have the groups that you see on TV later in the afternoon when all the judging is finished...and they will have a Best In Show group like on TV.

I have seen other dogs there....but it really isn't allowed and you can be asked to leave. (This doesn't happen that often)

I wish I had something to show....and could be there!!

Hopefully, I'll be home with pups tho and be at the shows again next year!

Check 'Infodog.com' on the internet to see if this dog show is listed in your area. There are multiple classes for each breed (if it's not listed on the internet call the sponsoring club for times) such as puppy dog, puppy bitch, exhibited by breeder, etc. And, yes, there is a best of breed (as well as best of opposite sex).

Thanks! I really just want to see the pugs. It also looks like they sell a lot of really cool dog stuff. And I might see if I can meet some breeders. I'm still torn as far as getting a new brother for Izzy.

If you want to get a chance to talk to some breeders......you're not that far away from the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show at Cobo Hall.

It's a benched show.....and all the dogs ...of every breed that are entered have to stay on their benches ALL day until they are released at the end of the day...except when showing. They have obedience, confirmation, agility, and I think rally. The police dogs will be there.....the herding dogs will herd...I think too!

    Here's info on it!

Talk about stuff to buy!! WOW!!

I'm not sure that I'll be there on Sat...But am hoping to be there the entire day with friends by the pugs! It's the first year in a long time that I haven't been entered..and it seems funny!
