| Francis and I drove 6 hours to see my family for Thanksgiving. We had a blast and ate a lot. She played with my parents' dogs all day every day and I had fun watching. Everything was fine until we drove back home. I didn't really notice anything when we got out of the car, she seemed fine. But when we got inside, she was very docile and not interested in playing - only interested in laying with me. I thought she was just depressed. Yesterday morning, she was similarly low-energy and seemed to crouch a little as if she was favoring her hind legs a bit... I thought she was really depressed. Yesterday afternoon I took her outside when it was raining and freezing outside (which she normally doesn't mind). She was moving so slowly and crouching and shivering. This morning was worse - she was plain ole hunched over, unable to jump and preferring to sit. I took her to the vet who didn't find anything neurologically wrong and didn't notice any gastric issues and chalked it up to be a back muscle or something from jumping or getting stepped on accidentally (which hasnt happened). After work, I came home and she could barely come out of the crate. She's on some pain meds the vet gave us, but she seems to be in so much pain, I'm worried sick. She will whine and move around unless I'm petting her. She has no other symptoms but the pain and arched back. She's 8 months old and a has healthy appetite with no constipation (so far). Has anyone experienced this in a puppy? |

| I'm guessing it's some sort of soft tissue injury from playing so hard, especially if she isn't used to so much excersize.

| Did your vet check her out for pancreatitis? When you are visiting for Thanksgiving, and perhaps someone gives your dog extra turkey (or worse), it is quite common. Perhaps he did check this, but if not a phone call to check is in order. Joan

| Is she eating, peeing, and pooping??? It could be muscular or she might have a soft tissue injury.....or maybe she's out of alignment or hurt her hips????? Pain meds mask the problem. Do you have a vet/chiro or vet acupuncturist you could take her to? |

I agree that they would mask. I'm hoping its a muscle she's pulled or something, but if she gets worse I am going to find a vet that does acupuncture. |

| Pick up her usual portions of kibble and substitute well cooked rice and fragments of chicken stirred together. Feed small portions, three times a day. When you have an issue without a resolution, crate rest for puggy's own good. |

| Take her back to the Vet or to a different one for a second opinion. Are you sure she hasn't eaten something that could be obstructing her bowel? Is she peeing, pooping or vomiting??

| She is eating well. She peed last night and pooped some this morning. I'm calling the vet to take her back in and get a more thorough exam done. |

| Hope you can find out what the problem is soon. All good wishes for a speedy recovery.
