| Well, I finally made an appointment for Otto to be neutered. So, basically, what can I expect from the neuter? I know its a fairly simple procedure, but any surgery makes me nervous. I will ask the vet too, but thought you guys would be a great source! |

| Thanks Christa, its comforting to know they bounce back quickly. So far he only does the marking thing outside, havent had accidents in the house, but I will be happy if it reduces his wanting to wander off.... |

| Freddie had the snip a year ago on 13 Feb. He was 6 months old. Not sure about the weight gain, as he was still growing. We do get comments on how slim he is and the vet advised he is the right weight, and to keep it that way. Unfortunatley Fred has had to go under twice now - he doesn't cope well. We take time off work to be with him and slept on the lounge floor so he didn't have to jump into the bed. He was pretty feeble after both - but it soon passes. Reassurance and a comfy lap will get your boy through. Good luck on surgery day - try not to worry (easier said than done, I know)

| I kept Boris crated while he was healing after his neuter. Luckily, in an unfortunate way, with his prior broken leg he was quite used to being in the crate. I would restrict his activity (mostly the jumping). Boys are sooo much easier than girl and less worrisome (not going to do alot of damage to their incision). I would recommend getting an e-collar or keep a very close eye on him. Do not let him lick or else major swelling and irratition can occur.

| I seem to remember hearing someone here say males can still impregnate females a month or two after the dangly bits are gone.

| I had some pain meds to give to Bo after his snip, but never used them, he never missed a beat. |

| My Bo was up and at em not long after coming home. I didn't have to use the collar because he never tried to lick or bother it at all. I was shocked! With my girls I was up all night with them they were so groggy and sad looking. Hardest part was keeping him "quiet" for a week. I tried.
