Do the archived posts/threads only go back to 9/2008 - 2 years? I was looking for posts when I first joined and they are not there

Nope, they go all the way back to Day 1 - for example, here is a post from 2005:

Soo ... Profile >> Find all started threads ... should list from day one. It does not. I get 4 pages and nothing further back.

Out of curiosity, I checked mine through the profile and it only lists 4 pages - which only takes me back to Oct. 2009!! Maybe there is forum-set default limit for the number of searches it returns? And maybe there is a way to adjust and personalize the limit? I don't know, I'm just guessing. When I do an "Advanced Search" for my user name and select "A year ago" "and Older" It also only gives me 4 pages, which takes me back to 2008. However, since I know the topic of a few of my early posts (2005 & 2006), if I search for those by keyword, they do show up.

If I go to the Forum page and click on a particular forum - at the top of the page it lists all the pages and most have over 1,000 pages and go all the way back to the beginning of PV.

There is a limit on the number of results returned when a search is performed in order to prevent excessive database queries - that limit was set by default to 75 in VBulletin 4, which is why you could only go back 3-4 pages when you did a search for "threads started by" your username. We have extended the limit to 10,000, so it will return more pages, but the limit cannot be removed all together as that could cause the whole site to slow down (i.e. if someone searches for the word "pug", it would potentially return every single message ever posted on the site :o ! )

Nope, you can still access them fine! They will appear in search results, as well as if you browse back on any of the forums, etc... All this means is you can't get more than 10,000 results for very searches performed on the sitel
