I am NOT trying to get away with anything, but I AM running short on time (duh!).
I donated 302 IMMACULATE art books to a local art museum and school. I looked up each title and the exact edition which I had (I can send you the link, if you are interested where I did this).
CONSERVATIVELY, I totaled the value of the collection, and HALVED the number (I told you: I am not trying to "get away" with anything), but it turns out I still need a letter from an appraiser to take the deduction.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO MIGHT WRITE A LETTER THAT SAYS SOMETHING LIKE: "Not having seen the actual books which were donated, we/I can conservatively say that the value of the donated books on the enclosed list is $__,___.00." (I just don't want to put the number, here, I'd gladly share it with the letter-writer, obviously, AND accept their number if they think I am somehow way off!)
I'd gladly pay express shipping of this letter, if I can get it by Thursday of this week!
Thanks all... else I shall just not declare the donation, I guess.
Why can't the art museum/school provide that for you?

Ayleash, are you aware you posted this in the wrong forum?
