DefaultReplacement for recalled TOTW salmon kibble

I returned my recalled bag of TOTW salmon today, and the clerk said that the manager (who has a certificate in animal nutrition) did some comparisons and they are suggesting that people switch to Horizon Pulsar, as the next-closest thing in terms of calories, fat and grain-free. Pulsar uses red lentils and peas, does anyone know anything about these ingredients?

As a BTW, they are also suggesting that customers stay away from TOTW (and other Diamond products) for 4 to 6 months, to be sure the salmonella is completely out of their plant. That's based on their experience with similar recalls in the past.

Actually Earthborn Holistic grain free Ocean Fusion and Core Ocean would be closer as it is potato-based like TOTW but with more protein. Going to Pulsar would be more different as it is lentil-based. Lentils are lower glycemic and have more fiber but at the same time lentils have lectins/anti-nutrients/enzyme blockers that can be problematic to the intestines of sensitive dogs. Not all of these anti-nutritional factors are deactivated by the cooking process. Some aren't as problematic as others. And all dogs are different...

It is likely that TOTW will be available again before the 4-6 months, but they said recalls in other companies have sometimes resulted in the re-recall of the first batches of food because the plants wasn't as clean as the companies thought. They said to be absolutely sure the food is safe, wait extra long.

I have fed Anya Blue Buffalo Basics Salmon and Potato formula. She did well on it. Blue products have not been recalled.

Blue did have a recall but it was for too much Vit D in some of of the formulas.
