My 8 week old puppy is currently moving to this food from Eukanuba Small breed puppy kibble and dog roll (that the breeder was feeding her). She is moving to the "NOW fresh" (small breed, all ages) kibble (see above link) along with raw frozen possum meat.
I have decided to feed her a higher quality food. The other brand I would consider would be Orijen/Acana.
I'm from NZ so our range is slightly smaller than in the states!
Any personal experiences with any of the above brands would be much appreciated!
I have no experience with this brand. Looking at the ingredients, this seems to be a quality kibble.

Ray has since crossed the bridge but stays forever in my heart. I love you, Boo Boo. Oscar Wilde Thang has joined the family.

I just started Scootaloo on the NOW! Fresh for small breeds because she was turning up her nose at every flavor of Nature's Variety kibble that we'd been feeding her. She did this to us before after a few months on Canidae...I think she just gets bored. I was feeding the Nature's Variety kibble and topping with Merrick 96%, then I was just trying to get her to eat the Merrick wet...still was a struggle. We visited family for Christmas who gave her a bowl of NOW and she inhaled it. I looked it up and while it's lower rated than NV I figured I'd give it a shot and then maybe Petcurean's higher-rated kibble GO! I offset the 'downgrade' by serving it with a single medallion of NV Instinct raw on top. I'm wondering if it's got sweeteners/flavorings in it because she was pretty enthusiastic! I like that the kibbles themselves are tiny because she's not much for chewing. I'll check back in if I notice any issues on it.
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, till the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.

I feed Orijen to my guys and though neither of them are particularly enthusiastic about it, they do eat it, and on my older guy I've definitely noticed his poops are smaller, darker and less frequent. My 10 month old girl seems to poop an awful lot still, but they are also small and firm.

I use Now Fresh for my guys and have had no problems. Remy has a sensitive tummy and this food doesn't seem to aggravate it. Also, my guys had dark skin (almost black) on their bellies until I started them on Now Fresh....now their tummy's are a beautiful pink. yay!
It took me a long time to find one Remy would eat. He would roll in all the other kinds like they were doo-doo on the lawn! lol! He would still prefer poultry but this kibble is acceptable to him. I also like this one because of its small kibble size, (like cat chow).
I feed my 3 rescue pug babies NOW, it's an exceptional product and nope I am not affiliated with the company.
Actually the company is just outside of Edmonton where I live, they are also the makers of Acana, another exceptional kibble! My little Jenny has severe allergies and NOW (for small breeds) is working great for her.

Does anyone have any experience with Back to Basics dry kibble? It gets five stars on DogFoodAdvisor... I would love to do raw, and have gotten some awesome advice from CSollers, he's allowed me to pick his brain ad nauseum, but I want to wait until my little guy is a bit older...
Thanks!

Lola here.........................I know not of what you all speak!
I will eat ANYTHING you put in my bowl, or drop on the ground. Unfortunately my Mum keeps everything safely tucked away and feeds me TOTW kibble with coconut nut oil in the AM and pumpkin in the PM. She will, on occasion, share her banana or strawberrries or pineapple with me. Dad shares his watermelon. They don't let me have too much due to the sugar content. They never let me have table scraps (party poopers) but yesterday when they moved the sofa out to make room for the new power reclining one, I found 3 small pieces of hard, broken plastic that tasted exceptional until Mum shoved her fingers in my mouth and stole them back! I thought the floor was my domain, but apparently Mum really wanted the plastic for herself! Oh Well, I've been learning to share so I guess it's all good!
