Sounds as though you are a very caring and conscientious owner, Allen and I know that some breeders do let their puppies go younger. We also have a Flat Coated Retriever and we got him at around 7-8 weeks; I think larger breeds cope better away from the litter at a younger age. Austin will settle and you are obviously giving him all the love and attention he needs - he's a lucky puppy! I can't see him becoming overweight with your care, to be honest. Looking forward to seeing some pics

It sounds as if you're taking great care of your little guy. Pug puppies should be a little chubby in my opinion. They need it to grow the mass we want a grown pug to have. As he gets older, you may need to watch out for his weight but right now you don't.
Proud mama to puggies Winston and Ozzie, Slatan the Cat and Zino the horse.
and Sounds like you're a loving owner and doing a great job with your new furbaby...Can't wait to see pics...Ask lots of questions, very helpful members here..Enjoy..
