Poor girl. My SIL, who is a vet tech, has said they are only prescribing Purina or Royal Canin right now. You would think they would have been more pro-active with all the news that came out. Hope you find the right answer for Storm.

On the advice of my vet and wanting my 5 yr 6 mo pug, Pearl to lose a few pounds, I decided to put her on a diet with HILLS METABOLIC as recommended by my vet. The food costs costs almost almost double other Hill's dog foods. I bought a 7.7 bag from the Vet today ... but it is unopened. I don't see that type mentioned in the linked documents ... so I'll call the vet tomorrow for a reaction. Thanks for posting ... the reason I signed on today (after being "absent" for a while) is to see what's up with the new Metabolic formula food ... Thanks folks ... glad I decided to visit today.

I am hoping anything faulty would have already been recalled by now.

Just reporting back. All is well. The food is not affected ... and she's doing fine on it

Update on weight loss: Hills Metabolic works great. Pearl lost almost four pounds and is at her near ideal weight of 20 pounds. Vet told me to give her one cup per day. Here's what I actually did since solely dry food sounds pretty tasteless to me.
Feed three time a day as follows:
    1) one fourth cup dry +
    2) two tablespoons of a mixture (which we keep refrigerated) of one tub of Rachel Ray's Super Premium wet food and a can of organic pumpkin.
Pearl also gets occasional bites of grilled chicken breast for treats.
