Hi, Talos here!
When I came home at 8 weeks, I weighed just about a pound. I was so tiny, cat collars didn't quite fit either. In the end, my female human made me a little leather strap, and even put my name on it. Most of us fit into a cat collar, though - but just in case, what she did was to take a 1cm broad, soft leather piece (she used an off-cut - this is only somewhat acceptable. Us pugs should get purpose made and bought things, not just off cuts. I digress...). Any sturdy fabric should work too, just make sure the ends don't fray.
Then, she put an eyelet in each end, and put a piece of jewellery chain on the one side, and a small lobsterclaw clasp on the other. It could adjust in size (which was good, I grew quickly!).
Here I am wearing it:
I'm much bigger now!
(My Human says that we have to include this boring picture because it shows the construction better. But I'm not even in this one!
My human also adds that it saves a bit of money, since we grow so quickly out of this tiny phase. Also, that it may not be necessary since it's summer, but half a sock with strategic holes makes a great little jersey for a tiny puppy).
Welcome you found a great place and don't forget we love pictures.
Howdy and Welcome!!
Hey! YEa I was thinking of bringing her home in a cat collar. Im going to have to find a cute one! How much has Livi grown since 8 weeks?
That sure is a smart idea!!! I am not as crafty though! So a store bought one may be best!
Hey Everyone! I posted pics of little Coca!
Hi & Don't know if I already welcomed you on here yesterday, but if I did, you're doubly welcomed! I was trying to remember what we had for Rugby when she was tiny, & here is her 1st collar--it was a special woven collar that was completely adjustable--the prong would just poke through the weave of the collar anywhere you wanted.....
Rugby 7/10/02 - 9/28/15 Miss you, little girl! You're always in my heart!

I think that collar is very great!
Agree, a cat collar will probably work.
We set Ozzy on the grass in our back yard the day we brought him home. I think the "wait for shots" would apply to a dog park or public park setting.
