My Name is Dee Bushrod - I am a proud owner of a pug - Bessie, who joined our family a year ago.
Although myself and my husband are originally from Hampshire - we have been living in Oklahoma for the last 9 years. This is where we found our beloved Bessie. Bessie was rescued from being a breeding dog in a puppy mill. She was in pretty bad shape and is mostly blind. Although we don't know her exact age, 3 different vets have guessed her to be around 9-10 years old.
When we made the decision to return to England with our family - we had a crazy amount of paperwork, vet checks and bureaucracy to get through to get our sweet girl home with us. But we all travelled home together and arrived in the UK in August 2014.
We are now settled and living back in Fareham, Hampshire.
Whilst in the US, we would attend a monthly pug party in the local dog park - which me and my daughter loved and Bessie seemed to have a lot of fun being around other pugs.
I am organising a Hampshire Pug Party on Sunday February 22nd between 1.30-3 at Park Lane Recreational Ground in Fareham (just behind Fareham Leisure Centre) We would love to meet other pug owners and my daughter - Maddy is about to turn 11 years old and is completely pug-mad! Maddy would love nothing more than to spend her birthday with a grumble of pugs!
Ideally I would love to make this a quarterly event and meet up with other owners in different parts of Hampshire.
I would love to hear from any local pug-owners!
Hello and to PugVillage. Glad you and Bessie have joined us. Look forward to getting to know you and seeing pix of your Puggie girl. We do love photos here.
We never touch people so lightly that we don't leave a trace.
