I have 3 wonderful pugs, and 3 years ago after 5 years of research made the decision to become a breeder bringing a new face to breeding. my approach is unusual and completely revolves around my girls, their comfort and health. Some one recently called me an "Organic Breeder". I grew up breeding and showing Dobermans with my parents. I was in the show ring from 11 to 16 when my parents retired from dog breeding. After a bad car accident I had to give up owning big dogs as my injuries left my mobility in question. I had always owned dogs and of course didn't give up our last dobie, she passed away in 2011 from a stroke in her sleep snuggled right up next to our new pug puppy. I researched breeds then breeders and fell in love with Pugs. I then started researching breeding pugs, I wanted to feel useful and go back to my passion of breeding dogs. I loved it so much as a child and missed it so much. Our pugs are spoiled rotten pets first before anything else. People laugh because to reduce their stress during labor and delivery they give birth to the first puppy on our bed before moving to the whelping box next to our bed. All our families stay in touch and we have family reunions a few times a year for local families at dog parks. I'm always striving to learn more and more, I'm currently trying to find a way to learn more about pug genetics and all the markers they carry not just the "big ones". We are planning on expanding to include a pug rescue and summer camp so we're looking for a nice chunk of land to move to. Our Pugs are DD (Dixie Diva), Butch and Sissi. They own my heart and soul, well they own us let's face it. Thanks for having such a great community I've been using your resources for questions etc for several months and realized I had never signed up.
