My Mom/Louie’s Nana

My mom’s dog, Louie’s “Uncle Dagger” passed away peacefully in his sleep last night.

We are all taking it hard. He was such a fixture in our family. My mom is DEVASTATED. She is taking it really really hard. Dagger was her best friend, her protector, her last baby.

He hadn’t been feeling well the past week but still followed my mom everywhere. He had a vet appointment scheduled for Monday and yesterday she and I had a conversation about whether she would keep it because he seemed like he was feeling a little better. We decided to keep the appointment and just have him checked out.

She woke up this morning to find him gone.

Oh no! I am so sorry. My deepest condolences to your mom and to all who loved Dagger. It must have been such a terrible shock to wake and find that he had passed in the night, but I hope she can (eventually) find comfort in knowing that he went peacefully and on his own terms. He saved her from having to make that final, heart-wrenching choice.

Thanks y’all. He has been a hard one to lose.

My mom said to tell everyone thank you as well. She said especially for the candles because Dagger was very afraid of the dark.
