My pug seems to have rear end ataxia.
My pug seems to have rear end ataxia sadly.:tail: My 8 year-old pug, Dolly, has shown signs of this for about a year now. She started off with her tail not curling and then I noticed a shaggy bunch of fur on the back of her back legs and an unusual discoloration of her skin in some places on the back legs also. It was a darker rusty color.
I took her to the Vet and she didn't say anything except that she thought she may have arthritis and she didn't offer any other tests or meds. I don't have much money to do the testing so I don't know what is going to happen now. Dolly is having much more issues with walking lately and has stopped being able to jump up on a chair etc. for a year now also.
If anyone has had this issue with their pug please post a reply. I am hoping there is something I can do for her to help her and thought of getting her a little cart to help her get around.
Update: I did see a previous post on PugVillage that told about a Vet named Kathleen L Smiler DVM and she is sending me information to share with my Vet on this issue.
