OOO she's ADORB!!
She is a cutie!
Thank you for giving her a loving forever home!!!! She is adorable...and she sure looks happy!
Thanks so much for taking her in. The love of an adopted senior is a very special thing. Your are in for a delightful relationship. Congratulations! !
thanks everyone :) <3 she's so spoiled already, I didn't honestly think she would settle in this fast but I am glad she is comfortable and happy :)
Congratulations! Millie looks like she's more than ready to settle in a loving home! Seniors are the BEST, and I have a special soft spot for the elder ladies "of a certain age." Keep us posted on her progress, and thanks for adopting an elder!
Congrats!! Thank you for taking in a senior puggie.... Seniors ROCK!! She looks like she is in decent shape. She will give you years of love, not to mention the entertainment factor...
I was able to get a 9 year old girl from my local shelter. She came with some baggage and some health issues... After an ESP surgery and a much needed dental... She is a sweet girl... She was in pain when we got her. Her teeth were really bad, one of her extractions actually had dirt and hair in the socket! She's breathing much better and her coat came in really well after some good food on a regular basis... She's the boss... a pushy lil girl... the boys all listen to her and won't even thing about playing with her, unless she starts it... she will be with us for 2 years this coming March. She has opened up a lot too... more trusting.
aww, millies teeth are about the same. Definately going to have to see about her snaggle tooth, and shes missing one, the rest are sort of geenish yellow, im assuming they havent been cleaning in forever so im getting a finger toothbrush thing and some doggy toothpaste tomorrow :) gotta freshen that breathe up lol
my biggest concern is i think she has a cold. I just got her this morning, she was sneezing and had a runny nose, her eyes a pretty red and shes coughed/hacked twice. But she still seems happy and spunky. Any home remedies i can try until we get this little girl into the vet?
bit of an old fashioned remedy, but a tbsp of honey and small amt of lemon in warm water will soothe the throat. Might be kennel cough, if it is a kind of hacking cough? Are you able to take her temp? Most of this is not serious unless it hangs on for an extended period of time. A lot of stress for these poor babies in a shelter, she will recover quickly with your love and care.
Have your vet check this out when you go.
I agree with Scooterpug77. First and foremost is your love care and affection towards your pet that will make them feel that they are in a safe and loving environment where they can live a good life. Additionally, think of the diet. Ensure that the diet is balanced and healthy. Before you know it they will definitely have added some weight.
