My 10 month old pug is trippin'
I have a 10 month old female fawn pug who randomly starts acting weird. By that I mean she will sit and start looking side to side then up back to side to side, almost twitching but really really fast ... anyway she will do this for what seems like a long time then begins to go in circles as if chasing her tail but isn't. This too is done with such speed that when I video her, her image is more like a blonde blur. During this time she paces, drools to the degree of soaking her chin/throat, pants heavily, cries(tears soaking cheeks but no sounds) and recoils at being touched. Throughout one of these she doesn't respond to any attempt to play or love and won't climb upstairs (if she's downstairs when it happens) she won't jump up on my chair (like she does anytime if I'm in it!) and I wonder if it is connected to how she won't sit normally during this time- she almost crouches which she only does during these episodes.
This behavior will go on for a few hours and then just like that- she's back to normal.
It has become a more frequent occurrence, 1-2 xs a week , vs once a month or less.
I am worried, freaked out, and anxious when she is like this. I don't know how to help her as she seems (to me) like she's 'trapped' in there (I mean, she cries and looks at me like she's begging for it to stop)
I don't know much about dogs in general and hope someone here has an idea of what it could be or if this is normal for pugs or do I need to take her to her vet...
Anyway, thanks for any help !
