what are some of the funniest or most unique you have heard?
what are some of the funniest or most unique you have heard?
I don't think I can name just one but alot of the pugs here have unique names.
Co-Pilot's gotta be one of the most unique. I love it!
Also, the name Steve cracks me up. I'm dying to get a boy pug and name him Steve... after my friend who doesn't like dogs.
I personally think our dog's name is unique and cute (Pierre). He has a middle and last name but I'll keep that to myself. Our next pug will be a black female and my husband is dying to name her Russell. So her last name will be Mania (Russell Mania=Wrestle Mania). We are funny like that...
We were thinking of naming our next Pug Steve too but that's my dad's name.
Oh yeah, and I like Courtney's (SFGIANTS) pugs' names; they are jedi pugs!
i met a couple with two pugs this weekend
a male and female named lucy and ricky :pvparty:
I think Garth & Brooke is adorable for names.
hmmmm seems to be that everyone likes their own pugs names!
Well, I have to admit I do like Boris and Natasha (Tasha's true name).
Co-Pilot is one of the most unique I've heard. :valentine
I like EZDave's Toe Jam! (The Pug, NOT the actual stuff!) That name cracks me up!
I also like pooches with first and last names, like Freddy Jones or Mimi la Rue!
Co-Pilot and Lemon are special names, as is SugarRay (if I may say so myself!).
Another fave was Selma Blair's dog! She has a little one-eyed something named Wink!
I always like people names for Pugs, and one of my faves that I heard at Pug Park was Gloria! I just thought that was the funniest name for a Pug!
Lemon and Co-Pilot immediately come to mind... I once met a pug named Toad which was adorable...
One of my friends has one named Shamrock which I think is cute, and also, Captain Morgan (he has one eye so he looks like a pirate!)
everyone says ours are funny..
Homer & Marge (the simpsons)
My little 11 lb is called Crusher. He's part pug and chi and DH named him cause he said a little dog needs a big name. Besides our other pug's name is Precious and he has calling that name when he calls her.
I vote for Indiana Jones :bounce:.
My brother has a rescue that we are fairly certain is a puggle named Tullamore Dew (sp?) after the liquor.
He also has a daschund named Baron Rufus Von Stubbly.
Ditka has many rather silly nicknames, including:
Puggup, because he's so wound up he's going and coming at the same time.
Ditka Louise, from my mother. Yeah, Ditka Louise. I told her she was going to give him gender identity issues and she told me not to talk to my mother that way.
I once met a pug named Thurston
I liked the name radar for the poor little blind pug.....
I like Gumpy's name. It's certainly unusual but really suits him.
I met a pug quite awhile ago. He was tiny and adorable. I asked his owner what his name was and she replied "King" She said he runs the house.
I laughed and I haven't forgotten that name. I something think that BJ should have been named that.
I knew some people with a dog named Deeogee....get it? D-O-G.
I absolutely love the name Gumbo for a pug, and my next boy puppy will be named that.
I have to agree with the others, I think Co-Pilot is rather unusual too. But Gumpy...I love that name!
And what about John Ott? That's rather unusual for a Pug.
Lemon is definitely an original as well as Tonka!
Freddy Jones has cracked me up since day 1.....love his name!
Let my preface this by saying my friends and I have a dark and immature sense of humor...
That being said, he named his Pug Toby after Kunta's slave name in Roots. It was play on the fact that Toby runs the house, and he's black.
I love all the names, but Odie Gus Gus cracks me up, it is so cute! And I love Willy Wonka!! (but I always get that song stuck in my head when I see it)
PugSavers had a hermaphrodite Pug come through named Pat! Short for Paaaaaaaat! Pat was a doll, but sadly has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I was honored to have met her... uh, him?.... errr..... PAT!!!:valentine
Another Lemon supporter here! I also love Indiana Jones and Yoda.
Although one of my favourite puggy names has to be Elvis. Me and Lola met him in Chesterfield once and I think Lola fell for him! He really suited the name!
If we had another pug I'd like to call her Leia but my hubby said he wouldn't call her name out in the park!!! hee hee
My little Girl's name is Gertrude. My mom in law had named her that because she thought she looked like a little old lady. I almost brought home a little boy pug, we were going to name him Bert! But, I have 3 dogs as it is so I let another lady give him a good home.
OK... I need to stop typing. I don't completely know what I'm talking about. I DO know that it's not as uncommon as you'd think, and I DO know that they should get "fixed".
I really wasn't making this up as I was typing! I just realized I don't really know all the details and info!
Gumpy... My fussy sweet sassy rescue boy- 'Gumpy'. Not 'Grumpy'... Not 'Gumby'... He's a Gumpy...
I love Gumpy! "Round here, Linda and have all kinds of nicknames for the other pugs, but. Gumpy is just... well... GUMPY!
There is a pug in our rescue up here that was rescued from up north in the Matsu Valley. Linda and I told Vicky she needed to name her 'Mattie Sue'.. We're hoping the name stuck! :gimme:
I'm not sure how common it is but I LOVE the name Sherman!
Then again, I LOVE Sherman (those little white toes!), so I'm bias :valentine
I pretty much like all pug names (I really like Ditka. I REALLY like Thelma and Louisie).
The names of my next two males will be 1. Igor ("It's pronounced eye-gor."--from Young Frankenstein) and 2. Peter Lorre.
The women in my office decided I should have a matched pair of pugs named Pansy and Petunia.
If I ever adopt an older pair of seniors, male & female I would name them Fred & Ethel. I like unique names too. Gertie was just a Gertie. Shayna just didn't cut it. :headshak: Wesley was Tequila and although a unique name I hated it!!
I :valentine Stevie Wonder. I'm so glad Lynette kept his name!
I've always loved Tonka. He looks so very much like a Tonka.
I also just LOVE Mochi and Olive.
And, of course, I'm partial to all the Boris' and Natashas out there.
