Well she's not taking them tonight, I am taking mum back to the vet in the morning. I guess she'll keep them now until they are old enough to go to new homes. She hasn't had a litter before, I think she thought it would be easy. She just kept saying "but her mother self whelped."
I'm going to try and persuade her to let me keep them here for a few days, i'm off work this week and her holiday isn't due to start until next Saturday I think they will need closely watching.

Mom to Lucy
precious babies!
I would hope your friend would let the mum and babies stay with you until they're a more reasonable age to travel.
Bless you for all your efforts in taking care of these pups! :yippe:

Wow, these pups (and mom) are so lucky that you are such an animal lover. The fact that your friend was put off by the thought of her having to have a c section shows that she may not have taken her in for one!!
Thank you for being there for mom and her babies, and for being as educated as you could in the last minute of things. I really hope that these babies can find good homes at a right age, and that mom's owner gets her spayed. Poor little girl. Thank you for keeping her comfortable and for watching over her like you have (and for the updates)!!

Poor puggy mummy, she is staring at them like she can't quite believe it. At least now they've all fed and are all sleeping. Hope it's normal for the mum to be so enthusiastic with cleaning them, she nearly swallows them!!
Laura is coming to see them tomorrow, hope she lets them stay :gimme:

My goodness, what an ordeal for you. Sounds like it was a good thing that she was with you. I can't imagine leaving her that close to giving birth. Although I guess she thought it was still some time away. Hope they get to stay with you for a few days and all goes well from here on.

Wow, I am just catching this now.
I really hope your friend lets you take care of them, it sounds like your more concerned and are doing a great job.
I'm grateful you have them.

Good luck.
I think you have some good support from here.
If you are prepared to keep pups and mum with you for a few days I think that is the best place for them.

Hmm, will definately not be doing this again for many many years...if ever!
Watching a mom dog watching her puppies is endearing however if you have been up with her all the previous night AND have 3 little boys off school tomorrow you get a headache thinking about it!!
Well babies are all sleeping peacefully and Flo is sat on my feet watching them. She does't seem to like the tiny one very much but fingers crossed she will adjust soon and love them all.
They are staying with me until Tuesday at least, Laura has to work and I think her loss is my gain, I am starting to love them all and it will be hard parting with them.
Thanks so much Almandine for the advice, it's great to talk to some-one who knows what they're doing.
Oh well puppies waking up....off to the milk bar!

Wow. Bless you and that poor little momma & pups. Someone suggested I let Libby have pups before she's fixed. No thank you! Her body is so little and I know pugs commonly have to have c-cections. She also is not breed standard and I have no papers. Some people just don't think.
