Default Feeding: How many times a day?

I've been feeding Penelope three times a day since we got her. She's almost four months old now. Is it time for me to start feeding her twice a day? Do I still give her water three times a day? Thanks in advance.

My pug Lilo is 5 Months old and I have been feeding her only 2 times a day for about a month now.I feed her in the morning and at dinner time. I leave water down for her all day and about mid day I will give her a Milkbone dog bone as a snack and to let her chew.

I may start feeding her twice a day. As soon as Penelope drinks water it comes right out so leaving water out just wouldn't work.

She is old enough to go to two meals a day......I would leave water down all the time! It's not healthy if they cannot get to water!

At 12 wks old.......she should have a crate that is big enough that you can put a wee wee pad down....and she can get away from it if she's left during the day! She'll start to hold longer and longer!
She'll wake up and pee and drink!

During the night....you want her quiet and sleeping...like you sleep! When the house is dark and quiet...she shouldn't mess her crate. I don't leave water in at night.

Yes she needs water all day, at this young age she needs to be contained in an area where she can go potty. When you have her out with you, potty before play then after play, and always after waking. I probably took my babies out every 40 minutes to an hour when they were young.

I am not sure what I am going to do. I tried to line the crate with a pee pad just in case she had an accident and she just ate it. She sleeps through the night without going to the bathroom. We have been potty training her to go outside. I don't think I want to teach her it's okay to go in her crate or the house.

I would not stop feeding twice a day until the puppy is at least 6 months old. They have very small tummies at that age.

A dog should ALWAYS have access to fresh water. She could become dehydrated. I agree that dogs should not learn to go inside the house, but that requires you to supervise her more. You can't leave a puppy at that age alone for hours. They need to go to the bathroom often during the day and it's up to you to find a solution. Doggie daycare might be an option.

Please don't restrict her access to water. Certainly not during the day.
