Default Lumps on head and cloudy spots on eyes.

My pug Trashboat is around 15 weeks old, he has little lumps on the top of his head under the skin that move around. I was thinking they are bumps from playing rough with my basset hound and my grandparents new puppy but would like some input as I am new to the breed. He also has cloudy spots on both of his eyes which was noticed shortly after getting him. One is worse than the other. I took him to my general vet, where he diagnosed him with a congenital corneal dystrophy and he will most likely be blind but referred me to a specialist. He has no problems seeing though and with little research I am 99% positive it is not that. I then contacted the negligent breeder who first denied the problem but then admitted that his eyes had been injured by one of the other puppies. With just a few weeks of TLC his eyes look better and has fattened up but again would like some input on any similar eye problems pugs experience. I am taking him to a more specialized vet for a check up and vaccinations soon.
Here's a pic of the little guy, you can see his lumpy head and the spots on his eyes.

Hello & to the village! I'm a firm believer in vet opthalmologists and if you have any close to you I would get your puppy in for a visit. Even if it's nothing you have established yourself as a patient for problems down the road if any occur.Pugs are prone to many eye issues. Find a regular vet that works with pugs all the time. Glad you joined and we do love pics!

Hello...I just noticed my 7 year old pug has one eye that looks as if it has a hazy film over it, she goes to the vet this week. I don't see spots but I am curious as to what you find out from the specialist and any advice you have. I hope all is well with your pup!

I am so thankful for replies. I know a lot about animals, especially dogs and am in college to be a veterinarian however I know little specifics on pugs. I am going to be taking him to the vet I take my pets too for through examinations, emergencies, and for questional problems thats in the city. I only take them to the vet near my town for less serious health concerns as he is a general vet with general knowledge and services. If they cannot diagnose his eye issues with 100% certantity, I do have the number to a near by opthalmologist. I will keep you guys up to date about what the vet says about both of the things Im worrying about. Ive only had him for a few weeks but love him todeath already. Hes such a crazy sweet little guy and want him to be as healthy as possible.

Hi & Your little Pug is adorable, & I'm sorry you've already got a couple of things to worry about! You're in good company here! There are lots of nice, knowledgeable people on this board who are always ready & willing to share their experiences & knowledge. Your vet will know best, but as far as the lumps, right after we got our little Pug years ago, we noticed she had a lump near her eyebrow. We thought she injured herself playing, but vet said "ringworm." I had no idea it could show up as a lump like that! We treated it & have had no more problems with that. Let us know what you find out about the eyes--there are lots of people on here who are very helpful with eye issues.

Update on Trashboat. Vet says that shes pretty certain he has Corneal Hyperpigmentation and is blind in one eye and partially in the other She recommended an Ophthalmologist in the area and that he needs to be seen there before he is neutered. She also wants to do a test for a liver shunt before she puts him under anesthesia.

Sorry to hear about your baby. I'm just curious, why would they test for a liver shunt?

Welcome to PV. I'm so sorry to hear about the eye condition. So tragic in one so young, too. Poor sweetie.

Trashboat is such a cutie. Just curious, how did you choose that name?

He is a sweetie! Welcome, and we're sending prayers that his liver's OK and his vision improves. What did she say about the lumps?
