Default Best flea prevention medicine for pugs?

    Hello!
I was wondering, what do you think is the best flea prevention for pugs? Now that it's spring I know they will start coming out and even though my apartment complex is great about spraying for fleas/ticks I'd like to make sure my pug is comfortable..

    thanks!!

I use trifexis. It's a pill and Ruby had no issues with it.

I use Frontline because it is non-systemic. I don't want something like that going thru her bloodstream. Look at the ingredients of some of the flea and tick stuff, too.

For some reason, the fleas here (year round) have become "resistant" to Frontline. Of course, Frontline claims it can't happen, and offers all these satisfaction guarantees, but the truth is: I have applied it and still got fleas. Works on ticks, though. Trifexis is used year-round in Hawaii, no problems here. Don't bother with flea shampoos and flea collars.

Last year's infestation was extremely nasty. It took 3 months of Frontline to get rid of them. I didn't think she had them as normally, I can find the little bastards even with a flea comb and last year, I couln't find them. It wasn't until I saw the 'rice' pods that I knew there was a problem. Used Frontline for 3 months until we finally got rid of the little devils.

We use Advantage for fleas and worms. It's a liquid that goes on the back of his neck and he's been fine with it. We don't bother with flea shampoo / collars either.

frontline is magic for us. Takes a few months to get rid of them, flea life cycle and all that, but for years of dogs it's done the job :)

Frontline never worked for Buffy. We use trifexis as well. It is for fleas as well as heartworms.

Thank you for all of your responses!!! My poor baby needed something asap so I ran out and bought a 3 month supply of frontline! Crossing my fingers and hoping this works! I hate to see him uncomfortable :( if it doesnt seem to work/help I will definitely be looking into the oral flea prevention :)
