When is it appropriate to start trimming pups nails? My brother's groomer said not to trim them as puppies. Is this true?
I was cutting oscars nails right when I got him, and the breeder cut them too. Just make sure u don't cut too much off. Pups nails are super soft.
Pugs are notorious for not liking their feet to be handled or their nails cut. So as early as possible get them used to having their feet touched and their nails trimmed. Make every time a positive and upbeat experience with lots of praise, love and treats so they will associate only good things with it.
We never touch people so lightly that we don't leave a trace.
the vet has trimmed olivia's for free at each of her pup visits since she was 6wks old...every 3 wks. They grow fast! Groomer is wrong about that IMO

Definitely play with her feet even if you just tap a nail grinder on it real quick and mess with her mouth so she gets use to teeth cleaning!!
I'm lucky, Ruby only lets me cut her nails, if anyone else touches her feet she screams. I started with Oscar right away and I don't think he even notices when his nails are being trimmed, he's totally cool with it.
I do agree with others though, touch the paws, and even gently squeeze to get your pup used to touching the paws. Even when your just watching tv, hold your pug and rub their paw pads with your thumb.
Baby claws are sharp and can easily cause an eye injury so definitely trim.
