Oh my gosh, he's soooo cute! What a handsome little man.

    Is he not housebroken?

    As far as food goes....

If you live in the US
Dog Food Reviews and Ratings | Dog Food Advisor
If you live in the UK
The Dog Food Directory - now listing 1111 dog foods!

    What to look for:
    1. Chicken, beef, lamb, etc should be the first or second on the ingredients list. "Meal" should be named (chicken meal, beef meal, lamb meal, etc and not say "meat" meal).
    2. Whole vegetables, fruits and grains. Whole ingredients should be used - ie beet vs beet pulp. (Good - carrots, peas, kelp, flax seed, barley)
    3. Organic Ingredients.

    Top-Notch foods should NOT contain:
    1. Meat-by-products
    2. Added sweeteners
    3. Artificial preservatives (BHA, BHT and ethoxyquin)
    4. Artificial colours

The same goes for treats. I watch everything that goes into Sienna's mouth and make sure it is healthy.

Thanks for the dog food tips!

And when I asked if he was housebroken then said they didn't know because he came in as a lost dog and didn't really have a way of knowing that..

Congrats on your new baby! We've had our shelter pug for just over a week, and he already feels like a member of the family. I'm so excited for you!

Our SugarPug doesn't curl her tail because it was broken when she was a puppy. We knew that when we got her as we "made" them take care of the puppy instead of putting it down.

How wrong is that!?! Who would put down a pug merely because her/his tail wouldn't curl/was broken? I wish humans could be more like dogs - love unconditionally. We have no clue how to do that. We would kill a dog because s/he doesn't fit our definition of "perfect", but they accept us as long as we love them...and even if people beat their dogs, some will even love their owners then. Humanity has a lot to learn - no, we're not the better species.

You will have to let us know if his tail starts to curl after he's happy and secure in his new home -- not that it matters one bit if his tail is curly or straight -- it would just be interesting to know if there's a change.

My Luigi is a rescue. He was found after being on the streets for 3 weeks. When I brought him home, his tail was between his legs, slept behind the couch and did not want to be picked up or stay on my lap. After 3 years he is much more loving, tail curled and seems happy. But, he is still very reserved when it comes to affection. I love this little boy for who he is and consider adopting him one of the best decisions I have ever made. In time you will feel the same way.

Oh, he's just so handsome! I'm sure he'll love his new life with you. My Bailey has a tail that only curls once, and it's always been that way.

    Congratulations on the adoption!
