Default Sherman and his liver problems

It's been awhile since I posted here with an update on Sherman. At a year old, Sherman was diagnosed with a probable liver shunt. He was put on a hepatic diet and for a but seemed to do a little better. However, that was short lived. He continued to get more symptomatic and in December 2014 he had surgery to place a constrictor ring on the shunt. It was supposed to close it off, and then his liver regenerate so life could be normal. Sadly the surgery was not successful and he has been getting worse over he past year. He still pukes with shorter 'healthy' periods in-between. A little over a month ago he had a seizure - first one since surgery. A week ago he spent four days throwing up. Then seemed good for a couple days then threw up on Friday and Sunday. Now diarrhea from increasing his laculose. He has also been on Metrondiazole and Pepcid.
Wednesday (tomorrow) he will be getting an ultrasound to see if the ring that was placed has failed, or if he has other shunts. This poor boy has been having a rough time lately. Hoping he will at least feel good on Feb 1st for his 4th birthday. Please send good vibes his way for some real answers tomorrow night. If the ring has failed, or they find another external hepatic shunt it will mean a repeat surgery with regular vet. If shunt are inside the liver then the only option would be to go to MSU for a special procedure they do but that costs $7500 which I do not have and cannot even charge that kind of money. Hoping if anything that it is something my vet can fix.

I am so sorry about Sherman and his continuing health problems. I pray that you will get the answers and necessary treatment to get him feeling better. He is far to young to be having so many health issues.
