Oliver's surgery went well today, he is staying the night at the vet to keep an eye on the stitches but he will be home early tomorrow!

Great update. I will be praying for his recovery and for this to be the end of the MCTs.

Glad all went well. Hoping for clear margins and no more MCTs!

Thanks again, I really appreciate you guys thinking of Oliver :) He came home yesterday morning and is doing very well considering he has staples from ear to ear across the back of his head - lucky pugs have all that extra skin! He has two incision sites, they removed the original mast cell tumor and that raised area, which did not have any mast cells that they could see but it was very inflamed so it will be biopsied. The oncologist did a few blood and urine tests prior to the surgery. He did try to play with his toys a bit yesterday and he slept well through the night, so I think the pain is under control.
Here are some photos of the little guy recovering, he looks fairly normal from the front. His neck is all shaved, stapled, and orange from the surgery prep so other views are a little unnerving.

Sweet boy. Positive thoughts for quick healing and clean margins ahead!

I am happy to report that Oliver's tumor was low grade and they were able to get clean margins! The second bump in the back was just inflammation and did not have any mast cell tumors in it, the dermatologist thought maybe it was a yeast infection of some sort but I am not sure. Oliver is doing well but a little fussy, I think he may be having gas from the antibiotic as he does not appear to be in pain.
